Najwa's Simple Stir Fried Yee Mee

Assalamualaikum and hello Lovelies ♥♥♥

It's Sunday~~~ I love doing activities on Sunday. I have just finished my workout and right now, I'm SUPER HUNGRYYYYYY!!!! So I want to eat something very fulfilling, but doesn't have too much ingredients. Something quick to prepared, but not fast food. Something delicious, but still healthy for my diet plan.

You must be thinking that, "Hmm...this girl is super picky with her food. And healthy food? Yuckk!!!" Hahaha..I got that a lot. But am I suppose to care what people think? NOPE.

Now back to my story, what should I cook? Let me see...I opened the fridge and saw these ingredients:

1. Leek
2. Chilli
3. Carrot
4. Coriander
5. Egg

And outside of the fridge, I saw shallot and garlic. yihaaaa~~~

So this is what I did:

1. I started doing omelette by mixing egg and coriander together (without salt). Then I poured the mixture into medium heat non-stick pan because I don't want to use oil. Once cooked, I put on the chopping board and started to chop it diagonally(that's how I like it to be)

2. Then I soaked yee mee into hot water to ensure all the food colouring been removed. While waiting for it to become a little bit softer, I washed and chopped the leek, chilli, shallot, garlic, and sliced the carrot. Remove/ Exile the water from yee mee.

3. In the medium heat non-stick pan, I saute the shallot and garlic for few seconds before adding other vegetables and stirred them together.

4. I added some salt and pepper.

5. Finally I added the yee mee and mixed them together. I put it in the plate with chopped omelette at the side. Tadaaaaaa~~~~~

Bon appetite~~

It only took me less than 10 minutes to prepare this meal and it's very satisfying. Let me know if you already try this recipe and what do you think about it. Hope to hear from you soon. Love ya~~~

What Should You Do Before Having Life Insurance/Takaful?

Assalamualaikum and hello Lovelies ♥♥♥

As the topic above mentioned, I'm only going to mention about LIFE INSURANCE. Not car insurance, not jewellery insurance, not real estate insurance, not even hair insurance. Savvy? So I hope you make the right decision on choosing your own life insurance company.

Health Facts of 2014

Various Factors of Death

Did you know that 40% death in this world happens because of accidents and sudden health disease such as heart attack? And did you know that most of the death is not covered by insurance? Meaning, you leave the world without even leaving any compensation for your family!

Yes, your family love you. Yes, they pray for you once you go for after life. Yes, money is not everything. But be realistic. What if you are the head of the family? What if you are the only one who's working to support them? What if your children still studying in kindergarten or schools? You know that education is important. You know that education needs MONEY.

Don't be selfish. Think of your loved ones...
It's not about how you take care of your health like a sports-freak or something. SUDDEN DEATH can happens to ANYONE. I always believe the words "Shit Happens" anywhere, any time. But how can you prepare this catastrophe so that your family won't be left with unfortunate once you leave them for afterlife? 1 simple answer: LIFE INSURANCE/TAKAFUL.

For your information, I've seen a lot of insurance policies. Lots of insurance agent that convince me that everything can be covered. Lots of them 'ease' my daily work by asking me to pay the insurance monthly fee to them. What...? Are you serious...? How can I know that they won't run away with my money? How can I be certain that they're not bluffing me about the benefits or how fast they can compensate me if anything happens?

So here's some of my ideas, what I did, and I think what you should do before applying life insurance/takaful:

✔RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH
   - It's an IT world nowadays. Do some research on insurance company that have strong base, high achievement, good services, highly beneficial. When you start paying insurance fee monthly and it started becoming your commitment, it means that you put your trust for the company to handle your money correctly.

Research about insurance companies in your countries

DOWNSIZE YOUR CHOICES
   - From 10 insurance companies in your countries, try to downsize it to 5 or 3 companies that you sure have good reviews in the internet or newspapers.

✔TAKE YOUR TIME, DON'T RUSH IT
   - You will have new commitment by paying insurance fee monthly/yearly. So make sure you take your time and know what the insurance benefits suit your job and health. And know how it should benefits your family if anything happens to you. This key point is also the same with RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH topic.

✔CALL and ASK
   - 'Malu bertanya, sesat jalan' (You will lost if you're shy to ask). Once you chose several  companies that you most preferred, give each one of them a call and ask general questions about how long they have established, how many agents/staff in their company, who should you meet to discuss/explain more about insurances.

✔SET UP A MEETING
Use the meeting as an opportunity to ask as
 many questions as you want
Now that you've already know a little bit about the companies that you preferred, set up a meeting with one of their agents. Make sure the meeting is during lunch hour or still in office hour. Preferable method is by inviting your future agent to your office to keep the environment as professional as possible. Make the meeting useful. Ask all the questions that you need to know. Don't leave any single questions out of doubt. The agent must be able to explain to you perfectly about your money flow.

✔BANK-IN FEE DIRECTLY TO INSURANCE COMPANY
   - Instead of paying your insurance fee to your agents (who could run away with your money and sipping margarita in Hawaii.ehemm..i've tons of friends who've been cheated like that.D!*k head), why not start paying it directly to the insurance company account? But if you trust your agent 100%, then just go ahead as you prefer. hewhewhew~~~~

✔COMPARE AND MAKE YOUR CHOICE
   - You've seen the policies of each company. You've asked them questions. You satisfied with answers. It's time for you to compare and make your choice. Usually this stage is the easiest one because you've already understood each company pros and cons. So choosing the right one should be easy.

✔DON'T BE GREEDY
   - Having insurances are good. But too many insurance might increase your commitment. Therefore, don't be greedy. 1 or 2 life insurance/takaful is enough. As for me, I'm comfortable to have only 1 life insurance/takaful that gives me satisfying benefits. *wink*

✔DON'T BE SELFISH
   - If you have enough money, get insurance/takaful for your family as well. After all, they are all you got. Try to prioritize parents and babies. I believe the more you do good deeds, the more 'barakah' your life will be.

So I guess that's all I can list the few things that you should do before having life insurance/takaful. As for me, up until now, I'm standing strong with Prudential BSN Takaful. I have no problem with hospital procedure. My medical card can be used ALMOST  AT ANY CLINICS linked to Prudential. I have great life insurance/takaful agent who handling my case. Owh and before I forgot, if you have any hesitant or questions of how life insurance/takaful works, maybe you can spend some time and call my insurance agent for details:

How I Lose Weight and Leave The "OBESE" Word For Good

Assalamualaikum and hello Lovelies ♥♥♥

I've got so much request from my dear friends in facebook, wechat, and even instagram to explain how I lose my weight 'till I get the body that I want.

First of all, hi. My name is Najwa. I was just a regular, cheerful, overweight girl who always have high self-esteem. Yep. Even though I was fat, that never stop me from being confident with myself. I like to play dress-up, make-up, motivate people for being beautiful with 'just the way you are'...bla...bla...bla...

When I was 65 kilos

But soon, I realise, my body is not at its best when I started to have suffocation. Walking is such a nightmare for me. I kept fainting for the lack of oxygen.

Still, I ignored those 'miscellaneous' and moved on with my life. Eating, partying like a rock star, having fun for life. Once in a while, I did some research about losing weight and diet. Sounds convincing right? But one thing that I didn't bother to do any research is about BEING HEALTHY. Yes, the internet wrote about exercise, how to cut calories, how to count calories, how to eat less, how to lose weight QUICKLY...bla...bla...bla...

And so I tried. Almost all of them. You name it. Bulimia diet plan, Atkins diet, banana diet. etc. Yes I lost weight. Quickly. But what those diets do to me is making me gain weight MORE THAN BEFORE. Quickly, as well. I also having hard to keep in track. It's like zigzag chart when the weight kept moving up and down constantly. Being moody was common thing back then. People around me started to feel awkward and discomfort around me because of my mood swing. But I kept practising those diets simultaneously. Until one day, I was admitted to hospital because of terrible suffocation, gastric, colon ulser, and lack of nutrient. At only 156 cm, I was 90 kilos...

I remembered the doctor who used to treat me before said: "Najwa, you have to lose weight. Not because you need to be pretty or such. It's because the fat around your heart (jantung) compressed it and it's dangerous for your health." That was a harsh wake-up call for me. I asked myself, what have I done....

So I did some ✔RESEARCH. This time, I used the word "HEALTHY" as my guidelines. Everything that I do, I'll put the word HEALTHY in it. I started to create lots of recipes to suit my taste and my food allergies. I have terrible allergy with nuts/beans. ALL KINDS OF NUTS/BEANS. Unfortunately, most product in the market have them as main ingredients. So I have to be selective with the food that I cook. It's a hassle, but at least I know what kind of nutrient absorbed by my body.

My Signature Dish: Egg Salad with Black Pepper Toaster

BENTO (lunch box) is my new best friend. I prepared main dishes a night earlier and pack them before off to work. Save A LOT.

My bento sets for me and him ^_^

MINERAL WATER is a MUST. Wherever I go, I'll bring my water bottle with me to keep me hydrated. Sometimes, I splash some lemon juice into the water just for fun.

And because I'm a big eater, I never let my belly empty. I fill my belly with nutritious food and avoid processed food as much as possible. Only ONE(1) CHEAT DAY per week. Sometimes, I do fasting as well. Fasting is the best way to remove toxic from your body, prevent body bloating, and keep you fit and healthy. And you can save money too!!!!yeaaa~~~

Since I've already organize and plan my meals, I started to find EXERCISE and WORK OUT ROUTINES that suits me. Sports are my forte nowadays. Badminton, wave boarding, aerobics, jogging, push-ups, lunges, and squats etc.

One other thing that I really like to do to control my weight is by WEIGHING MYSELF EVERY MORNING. It's actually a psychological way to ensure that I can be careful with what I eat everyday. But most PT(personal trainer) doesn't recommend this method to avoid mind stress on their clients. Not for me though.

After more than a year of hard work, I manage to lose more than 30 kilos. My confident boost higher than a mountain, I feel good about everything, and I started to look the world in a positive way. I decided to inspire people to lose weight and help them to understand that they are not alone in this journey. ^_^

Right picture: 54 kilos and maintaining ^_^
Nowadays, I spent my time consulting my family and friends on how to eat healthily and give them ideas on simple recipes that I create for the past few years.

I hope this article can inspire you who struggle with weight loss. I will write more about my life journey in my next blog and what kind of great meals that keep me in shape. Until then, stay healthy and keep smiling. muah!!!

Office Make up Look

Assalamualaikum and hello loveliesss~~~

So today I've tried very hard to upload my video on Youtube at library around my house area. Turns out the internet here is pretty suck! Calm down, Naj.... *at the edge to throw my lappy out of anger*

Anyway, I just upload new video about Office Make up Look Tutorial. I've been working in different kind of industries; administrator, technician, waitress, art gallery. And I have tried many different kind of make up everyday just to experiment with the looks and this is by far one of my favourite and mostly wear whenever I went to work (*I use 'went' as past tense because right now I'm just a stay at home lady/housekeeper for my parents.heheeh*)

Without further ado, let's check out how I apply this polished and quick make up look:

1. As usual, I primed my face, under eyes, lips and my eyelids using primers and moisturiser to ensure that all the areas are protected. Then, I took lightest brown matte eye shadow (sort of like beige kinda colour) and applied it to the whole eyelids area up until my brow bones. That will be my base colour.

2. Next, I went ahead and took medium brown, also matte eye shadow and applied it to my creases/sockets and bringing it upwards just before my brow bones.

3. Before I applied some contrast on outer corner of my eyes, I applied my kajal eye liner and add up tiny bits of flick on each outer corner of my eyes (this step is totally optional). As usual, I applied black matte eye shadow on the eye liner to ensure that the liner stays longer and didn't budge.

4. Then, I took the same black eye shadow and dotted it at each outer corner of my eyes. Taking some dark brown eye shadow, I mixed both black and dark brown shadows in a swirling motion from outer corner to inner corner. This method is one of the way to create lift illustration on my hooded eyes.

5. Next, I applied couple coats of mascara before I started applying my foundation and concealer.

6. Finally I went ahead with my cream blush to create that glow, fresh looking skin.

Makeup For Beginner : Quick and Simple Makeup

Assalamualaikum and hello Lovelies ~~~

Today, I want to share with you how I always do my simple make up for casual occasion, hangin' out with my friends or families, or when I have to go for business meeting. Most of the product that I used are the ones that I bought from Malaysia and some of them I bought when I was in China.

Products:

BB cream by Elianto

Cream concealer (02 Medium) by Elianto

Loose powder (sand beige) by Collagen

Cream blusher (coral) by MSQ concealer palette

Mascara (black) by Essence I Love Extreme

Lip balm by Maybelline Color Bloom

Step by step:

1. First, I always moisturise my face, under eyes, and also my lips before I start to do my make up to ensure that my skin has some protection.

2. Then, I start dotting my BB cream on my cheeks, nose, chin, and fore head.

3. Using a damp beauty blender, I dab the cream all over my face. Beauty blender is one of the way to apply foundation or BB cream quickly and evenly.

4. To cover up some of my blemishes and scars, I use a cream concealer with a dome shaped brush. Dab the products on your skin instead of rubbing it to ensure you get the full coverage. After using the brush, I will gently tap the concealer on my skin to make sure it blends well with my skin.

5.  To conceal my under eyes dark circle and lines, I apply the same cream concealer along my under eyes, then taking the damp beauty blender with some loose powder at the tip of it, I dab the beauty blender under my eyes. Because I'm using damp beauty blender, so when the powder dries, it will create patches under my eyes. To remove the patches, I just take a clean brush (without no product on), and brush off the remaining powder.

6. Before applying powder all over my face, I apply some cream blusher in tear drop shape from my cheek bones to the apple of my cheeks. Cream blusher tends to look more natural and it suits nicely for dry skin or combination skin with dry cheeks.

7. Then, I apply a tiny amount of loose powder all over my face using powder puff. Sometimes, I use a powder brush. And sometimes I didn't even use powder at all especially during winter (when I'm in China), to prevent my skin from peeling off or becoming too dry.

8. Because the purpose of this make up is SIMPLE and EASY, so I skip the part of eyeshadows and liners, and go straightly to applying mascara. I only apply a couple coats of mascara on my upper and lower lashes.

9. Finally, I apply my favourite lip balm to give that pink-reddish color with moisturiser. Muah!

So that's about it. Very simple but still make you look fresh. And besides, most products are affordable and easy to find in Malaysia.
